Question:  How does GL Pony determine what level my son is eligible for?

Answer:  Baseball playing age is determined by the player's age on April 30. Softball playing age is determined by the player's age on January 1.

Mustang = 9 & 10 year old players
Bronco = 11 & 12 year old players
Pony = 13 & 14 year old players
Colt = 15 & 16 year old players
Palomino = 17, 18 & 19 year old players

Baseball "And Under" age classification adopted for the 2009 season.
The GLPBS has adopted a slightly modified version of PONY Baseball's AND UNDER age classification as a local rule. This rule change will now allow younger players the option to play up one level so that they can play baseball with their classmates if they desire. This is an option only, not a requirement. In order to "play up," a player must be within one (1) year of the age group (per PONY age definitions and the player must be grade-level appropriate, as follows:

Mustang: Player must be eight (8) years of age and in the 3rd grade to play Mustang 10U.
Bronco: Player must be ten (10) years of age and in the 5th grade to play Bronco 12U.
Pony: Player must be twleve (12) years of age and in the 7th grade to play Pony 14U.
Colt: Player must be fourteen (14) years of age and in the 9th grade to play Colt 16U.

NOTE: The age level at which a player registers will be his required age level for that entire season.
